Mrs. Elaine C. Dunkle

Mrs. Elaine C. Dunkle, 86, of Lehighton, passed away Monday, December 23rd  at The Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late John Kimmel Sr. Born in Lehighton on Thursday, November 16, 1933, she was a daughter of the late William E. & Florence (Roth) Dunkle Sr. Elaine was a 1951 graduate of The Lehighton Area High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked in food service at The Boulevard Restaurant Drive-In for many years as a counter/sales person. She was an active member/volunteer of Zion United Church Of Christ, Lehighton and volunteered her time at The Gnaden Huetten Hospital Gift Shop. She also volunteered at The Lehighton Senior Center and enjoyed participating in the Carbon County Senior Games. Surviving are 2 daughters, Catherine, wife of William Fenley of Palm, Penna., Teresa, wife of Tim Hottenstein, of Lehighton, 2 sons, John Kimmel Jr. & his wife Miki, of Japan, Bill Dunkle and his wife Ruth Ann, of Allentown, Pa., a sister, Joyce Ricciardi of Lehighton, a brother, Marvin Dunkle of Lehighton, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Shirlene Smith, Patricia Ann Dunkle, 5 brothers, Donald, William Jr., Dale, Larry, & Lloyd Dunkle. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 27th at 11 a.m. at Zion UCC, 225 Iron St.,Lehighton, Pa. with the Rev. Dr. Dean D. Frey officiating. Call 9-11 a.m. in the church. Interment in The Lehighton Cemetery, 4th & Alum St., Lehighton, Pa. Memorial  Contributions in her name may be made to Zion UCC 225 Iron St., Lehighton, Pa. 18235.
