Mrs. Cynthia A. (Wehr) Smith

Mrs. Cynthia A. Smith, 68, of Lehighton, passed into eternal rest on Thursday, October 5th at The Gnaden Huetten Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard L. Smith who passed away, March 23rd, 2010. Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Curtis & Marjorie (Olewine) Wehr. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Bank Teller at The PNC Bank, Lehighton, with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Ben Salem United Church of Christ, The Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club, & The East Penn Sporting Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading novels, constructing jigsaw puzzles, and department store shopping. Surviving is a close personal friend & caretaker, Kirk Hawk of Lehighton, a special niece, Tammy, wife of Jay Faenza, of Summit Hill, 2 great nephews, Joshua & Anthony, & other nieces & nephews. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 13th at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 South 4th Street, Lehighton with the Reverend Michael J. McGowan officiating. Call 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment in Ben Salem Cemetery, East Penn Township with a joint committal service for her husband Richard with Full Military Honors under the direction of the Lehighton Area UVO.
