Mrs. Barbara B. (Noll) Dougher

Mrs. Barbara B. Dougher,  98, of Lehighton, Pa., passed away, Saturday, June 15th at her residence. She was the wife of the late Paul Dougher. Born in Palmerton, Pa. on Sunday,  January 16, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Thomas & Margaret Noll. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a third grade elementary school teacher for The Lehighton Area School District at the 1st Ward Elementary School for over 30 years. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Mrs. Dougher was a former member of The Lehighton Lady Elks Club, and held memberships with the PSCA & PASR, the Pennsylvania State School Teachers Union and School Retiree’s Association. In her early years, she was a licensed pilot and flew Bi-planes out of  the Fogelsville Airport and occasionally out of the Lehighton Airport. During World War II she worked as a draftswoman. She was an avid Civil War Buff and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Surviving is a daughter, Paula J. Dougher of Glen Burnie, Maryland, 3 sons, Theodore Dougher and his wife Michelle, of New York, Thomas Dougher & his wife Cary of Virginia, John Dougher & his wife Barbara, of New Jersey, 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Katie, Christine, Sarah, Stephanie, Kyle, Dylan, 4 great-grandchildren, Tuner, Elise, Ophelia, Max, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Prutzman, & a brother, Donald Noll. A Celebration Of Life Service in her honor will be held on Thursday, June 20, at 11 am. at the Ovsak FH, 190 South 4th St., Lehighton with Emma Weaver SALM officiating, call 9:30-11 a.m. at the funeral home, Interment in the Lehighton Cemetery.
