Richard J. McGinley 81, of Lehighton born 2/19/1936 died 6/30/2017 in Hometown, Pa. He was the husband of Susan J. McGinley. He was known as “Dick”, “Rich” & “Mac”. He is survived by  step-children, Christina, Tammi, Jennifer, Megan and her husband Michael, 9 grandchildren, & 2 Great-grandchildren. Children also surviving from previous marriages, Michael & wife Michelle, Kim, Honey, & Jimmie, & 4 grandchildren. He was the son of Michael & Gladys McGinley, deceased. His brother Michael “Chubby” McGinley & sister Mimi McGinley, both deceased. He retired a Navy Chief Petty Officer after 22 years of service with the following decorations; Korean War, Viet Nam War, Good Conduct medal (2nd Award), Combat Action Ribbon Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal with Device (1960), Viet Nam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, & the Korean War Veteran Medal. He retired from Clean Steel Inc., Long Beach, California. He was the previous owner of “BH’s Place” , Lehighton. He was a member of VFW Post 256, American Legion 314, & Lehighton Fire Co. He was an avid fan of Phila. Sports  Teams, Nascar, particularly Dale Earnhardt #3. He enjoyed playing the Pa Lottery, Games of Chance, watching Cop shows, Hallmark movies, going out to dinner with his wife Susan at The American Legion, & spending time with his daughter Honey and hearing of her adventures from her bucket list. As he was in the military, he was a very regimented man, and was well respected. He will truly be missed. Graveside services in the military section with full UVO honors in the Lehighton Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, July 7th. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the United Veterans Organization, 314 Veterans Ave., Lehighton, Pa. 18235. Other forms of condolences can be sent to his wife Susan at 112 Bridge St., Lehighton, Pa. 18235. He will be truly missed by all. Rest In Peace Richard.
