Mr. Leidy J. Muffley

Mr. Leidy J. Muffley, 88,of 1302 Valley Rd., Bethlehem, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Friday, July 21st at The Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus. He was the husband of Mary Louise (Murphy) Muffley. They were married for 62 years last September 4th, 2016. Born in Weissport, Pa., he was the son of the late Warren & Caroline (Albright) Muffley. He served our country during WW II in the US Army with the 37th Field Artillery Battalion, attaining the rank of Corporal. He attended Gettysburg College and later transferred to Lehigh University where upon his graduation, was hired by The Bethlehem Steel Corporation . He worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation as an engineer until his retirement. Leidy was a former member of Jacob’s United Church of Christ, Weissport, Pa. He was a member of the Lehighton AMVETS, and enjoyed  playing a good round of Golf. For many years, he coached little league baseball, and served on the  little league baseball board for the Northwest Bethlehem League and was responsible for many championship teams.In his spare time, he enjoyed taking trips with his loving wife & family to Eagle Rock. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 sons, Michael Muffley & his wife, Emily, of Bushkill, Pa., Wayne & his wife Lisa, of Hanover Township, Pa., 2 grandsons, Andrew James Muffley & Jonathan Leidy Muffley. He was predeceased by a son, Stephen Muffley. Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions in his name may be made to a charity of choice.
