Mr. Ervin James Donner

Mr. Ervin J. Donner, 91, formerly of 152 S. 3rd St., Lehighton, passed away Friday, Dec. 8th at Maple Shade Meadows, Nesquehoning, Pa. He was the husband of the late Sadie A. (Strohl) Donner who died Dec. 13th, 2007. Born In Weisssport, Pa., he was a son of the late James E. & Mildred (Henry) Donner. He served our country with the US Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Corporal. Ervin retired from the custodial department at the Lehighton Area High School. He formerly worked as a railway constructor. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton,  A Life Member of Lehigh Fire Co. #1,The Lehighton American Legion Post 314 and its Korean War Last Man’s Club, & The Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Co. Surviving are nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Hilda Kershner, Mildred Eisenhower, & 3 brothers, Stanley, Willard & Ed Donner.  A Celebration Of Life Service in his honor will be held on Wednesday, December 13th at 10 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton, Pa. with SALM Emma Weaver officiating. Call 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors under the direction of the Lehighton UVO, Franklin Heights Memorial Park, E. Weissport.
