Masonic Brother & Fellow Lion, Burdell C. Steigerwalt, 84, of Bowmanstown, Pa. was called off from labor on Wed. Oct. 17th at St. Luke’s Hospital, Lehighton, Pa. He was the husband of Florence M. (Hoffman) Steigerwalt. They were married for 65 years this past Aug. 8th, 2018. Born in Ashfield, Pa. he was a son of the late Elias F. Steigerwalt & the late Sadie M. (Schnell) Steigerwalt Smith. He most recently worked for Vic’s Time, Palmerton and previously worked for Keystone Lamp factory, Slatington as the Superintendant of production. He started his working career at the Park Restaurant in Lehighton. He was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bowmanstown. Burdell was a Life member and the last remaining charter member of the Bowmanstown-Parryville Lions Club where he served as Chaplain. Burdell held memberships with The Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Co., Lehighton F&AM Lodge #621 Lehighton, Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown, and served on Bowmanstown Borough Council. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 daughters, Julie A., wife of Ricky Graver of Lehighton, Cindy S. Mack of Lehighton, 2 brothers, Russell Steigerwalt of Macungie, Allen Steigerwalt & his wife Rose of Jim Thorpe, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Emma Shaffer, Cora Rex, Anna Mussellman, Ellen Anstead, Alverta Kern, & brothers, Fred, James, Elias, Myles, & Norman Steigerwalt. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Oct. 22nd at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 500 Ore St., Bowmanstown, Pa. with the Rev. Anthony P. Pagotto officiating. Call Sunday Oct. 21st from 6-8 p.m. at the Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton & Monday 10-11 a.m. at the church. Masonic Services 6 p.m. Sunday. Lions Services 10 a.m. Monday. Interment in Dinkey Memorial Cemetery, Ashfield, Pa.
