Mr. Ernest J. Sparich, 66, of Kutztown, Pa. formerly of Nesquehoning/New Columbus, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Thursday, January 10th at his residence. Born in Coaldale, Pa. on April 15, 1952, he was a son of the late Nicholas M. & Maria (Dardas) Sparich Sr. Ernest was a 1970 graduate of Panther Valley High School. He served our country with the United States Navy from 1970-1974 during the Viet Nam War aboard the USS Forrestal as a Medic. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Commonwealth Of Pennsylvania as a wine & spirits retail sales clerk with 30 years of service. He was of the Roman Catholic Faith. Ernest enjoyed hunting & fishing the local area and could be found watching The Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, 76er’s, and Flyers during their sports events. Surviving is a brother, Nicholas M. Sparich Jr. of Lehighton, & a sister, Christina M. Sparich of Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his companion Florence Leskin in 2004.
