Elaine M (Lear) Rehrig

Elaine M. Rehrig, 76, of Franklin Township, passed away Friday, December 15th at The Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the companion of Fred R. Scott. Born in Parryville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Arthur & Perma (Bauer) Lear. Prior to her retirement, Elaine worked as an Assistant Bank Manager for 1st Trust Bank, Cedar Crest,, Allentown Pa., and later worked for The Carbon County Assessor’s Office, Jim Thorpe, Pa. She previously worked as a millworker in the garment industry. Elaine was a member of Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashfield, Pa. She volunteered her time as a secretary & treasurer for the Lehighton Golden Agers and volunteered  her time as well at The “Nearly New” Shop in Palmerton, Pa. She loved hunting with her companion Fred & in her early years with her father. In her spare time she could be found sewing and doing crafts. Surviving in addition to her companion Fred are 3 daughters, Kim, wife of Kenneth Michael of Palmerton, Denise, wife of Scott Koder of Lehighton, Dorene, wife of Brian Green, of Florida, a sister, Joyce Solt of Ashfield, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Lear, & a son Keith Rehrig. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19th at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with the Reverend Anthony P. Pagotto officiating. Call 9:30-11 a.m. on Tuesday.
