Charles Kuehn Obituary

Brother Charles E. “Pappy” Kuehn, 90, of East Penn Township, was called off from labor on Saturday, December 1st at St. Luke’s Hospital-Lehighton. He was the husband of Elsie E. (Fisher) Kuehn. They would celebrated 63 years of marriage on December 3rd of this year. Born In Palmerton, Pa. on Thursday, March 8, 1928, he was a son of the late Frederick L. & Esther M. (Focht) Kuehn. Kuehn was a graduate of Palmerton High School, Class of 1946. After graduation, he served our county with the US Army attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was very proud to have been selected by the US Government to serve in General MacArthur’s personal guard company in Tokyo, Japan. He later attended and graduated from Allentown Business School and worked as an accountant for Lehigh Portland Cement Co., Allentown, Pa. retiring in 1990 with 38 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church Ashfield, Pa., The East Penn Sporting Club, Grundsow Lodsch Nummer Elfa #11 (Fireline), where he served on the Rawd, & Lehighton F&AM Lodge 621 where he formerly served as secretary & treasurer on the home association board. “Pappy” held Life memberships with East Penn Township Volunteer Fire Co., The Lehighton American Legion Post #314, & The Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company. Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Laurie S. wife of Charles Kobal of Nis Hollow, a son, Brad C. Kuehn, and his wife Eileen of East Penn Township, 4 grandchildren, Colin Kuehn, & his wife Amanda, Ryan Kuehn, Daniel Kobal, Ciera Kobal, & 1 great-granddaughter, Elly Kuehn, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by 5 stepsisters, Grace, Myrtle, Esther, Viola, Elsie & a stepbrother Frederick. Funeral Services & Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
