Uncle Johnny,
Thank you for being a good friend to your brother Joe, my dad. I can still hear you two guys talking and reminiscing about the days in the PA State Police. I was always so proud that I was lucky enough to have had a father and godfather both state Police Sergeants. I miss you both.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family of Sgt. Warkala. I am sure he will be greatly missed. Shortly after I came out the PSP Academy in 1968, Sgt. Warkala became my station commander at Fogelsville. I remember him as a fine supervisor, but he was also a fine person. He lived at the barracks as I did and after his shift he would come downstairs and watch television with us. And occasionally we would kick back and have a beer. I have often thought of Sgt. Warkala and those early years on the job and I wish we could go back there. Be assured that the Sgt. meant a lot to those of us who were lucky enough to have worked for him. Rest in peace John

Sgt. John was a compassionate, dedicated and well respected State Trooper. He was a man of strong character with great leadership skills who loved his country, family and the State Police. He always was sought after by the young Trooper's for guidance and direction. May he be remembered forever. RIP Brother John...

My condolences to the family.
John was station commander at Fogelsville in '70, my first assignment out of the academy. He was a great guy. Often left me off early as I was living in Bloomsburg at the time.
I will always remember his generosity and kind demeanor.
