Mrs. Maureen C. (McLaughlin) Markley

Mrs. Maureen C. Markley, 76, of Franklin Township passed into eternal life on Saturday, November 26th in Franklin Township. She was the wife of Larry E. Markley. They were married for 58 years on June 28th of this year. Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Patrick & Rose Marie Bonner McLaughlin. She formerly attended Mass at SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Lehighton. She was a former president of the Lehighton Boys & Girls Band, and served as vice-president of the Lehighton Area High School Class of 1957 reunion committee. She volunteered her time with the Lehighton Area Chamber of Commerce Fountain Restoration in the Lehighton Park and served as a girl scout & cub scout assistant leader. Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sons, James E. Markley & his wife Melissa, Thomas R. Markley of Lehighton, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lori Ann Rudelitch, 3 sisters, Rosemary Smith, Patricia Ceremele, Delores McCord, & 4 brothers, Eugene, Reverend John, Joseph, & Francis McLaughlin. A Celebration Of Life Service In her honor will be held on Friday, Dec.2nd at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with the Reverend Michael E. Ahrensfield M. Div. officiating.
