Mrs. Mary H. (Machovic) Svetik

Mrs. Mary H. Svetik, 85, of Palmerton, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Friday, January 5, 2018 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Paul P. “Bull” Svetik who passed away, August 30, 2014.Born in Palmerton, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Augustine & Cecilia (Stepka) Machovic. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a trimmer/tagger in the garment industry for Natalie, Blue Ridge, Fernbrook & Scotty’s Fashions. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton, Pa. where she formerly sang on the parish choir and helped with Halushki preparation and other church functions. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing & Polka dancing with her husband. She was  formerly involved with the Catholic Sokol’s of Palmerton. A loving wife, mother, & grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are 2 daughters, Louise, wife of Rory Koons, Susan, wife of Wayne DeWalt, 2 sons, Michael Svetik & his wife Amy, Paul Svetik, all of Palmerton, Pa., 6 grandchildren, Steven Koons of Washington DC, Tyler & Zachary Svetik, Jeremy & Jason DeWalt, Meredith Koons of Palmerton, a great-granddaughter, Reagan DeWalt, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Sedonia Machovic, Anna Miksits, & a brother Cyril Machovic.. A Memorial Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 12th, 2018 at 10 a.m.at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, Pa. with the Reverend William T. Campion officiating. Interment following the Mass in Sacred Heart Catholic (New)Cemetery, Stoney Ridge Rd., Palmerton, Pa.
