Mrs. Mary (Pritko) Machovic

Mrs. Mary Machovic, 96, formerly of Little Gap Road,  Lower Towamensing Township, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, November 12th at The Palmerton In Spirit Senior Living, Princeton Ave. Palmerton, Pa. She was the wife of the late Cyril M. Machovic who passed away, January 26, 2005. Born in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Joseph & Anna (Susanich) Pritko. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years in the garment industry. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton, Pa. Mary was known as the “Queen of Crocheting” in the Palmerton Area. She handed out hundreds of her hand made lace doilies to family members  and friends.  A very charitable person, she contributed to The Palmerton Hospital, The Palmerton Library, various churches, and to several of the nurse’s aides programs. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Polka Music . Surviving is a sister in law, Mary Svetik of Palmerton, Pa. & several nieces & nephews. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was predeceased by 3 sisters, Julia Fatzinger, Katherine Kolish, Stella Ovsak, & 2 brothers, Michael & John Pritko.  A Mass of Christian Burial in her honor will be celebrated on Thursday, November 16th at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, Pa. with the Reverend William T. Campion officiating. Call 9-10 a.m. in the narthex of the church. Interment following the Mass in St. Vladimir Catholic (Upper) Cemetery , Maple Ave. Palmerton, Pa.
