Mrs.Betty Lou (Green) Rehrig

Mrs. Betty Lou Rehrig, 80, of Lehighton passed away Friday, July 14th at The Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton, Pa. She was the wife of Lawrence C. Rehrig. They were married for 16 years on February 22nd of this year. She was previously married to the late Richard T. Serfass. Born in Lower Towamensing Township, she was a daughter of the late Harvey & Bertha (Rissmiller) Green. Prior to her retirement in 1999, she was the Director of Activities at Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Weissport, and formerly attended church services at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bowmanstown, Pa. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, & spending time with her husband & family. Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Cheryl, wife of Thomas Mulqueen, of Downingtown, 2 sons, Scott Serfass of Palmerton, Greg Serfass & his wife Melissa of Bowmanstown, her extended family, Greg Rehrig & his wife Kelly of Lehighton, Marsha, wife of Byron Long, of Cuba, New York, Annette wife of Fred Pompa of Catasaqua, 3 sisters, Doris Rehrig, of Bowmanstown, Evelyn, wife of Richard Steigerwalt of Bowmanstown, Barbara Meinhert of Palmerton, 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Harvey & Nelson Green. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 22nd at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 500 Ore Street, Bowmanstown, Pa. 18030 with the Reverend Denton R. Kees officiating..
