Mr. Willard C. “Jake” Andrews, 82, of Mahoning Township, passed away Sunday, April 1st, Easter morning at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem, Pa. He was the husband of the late Mildred L. (Tederman) Andrews who died Dec. 3, 2010. Born in Unionville, Pa., he was a son of the late Clair Sr. & Eva (George) Andrews. He served our country with the US Army during the Berlin Crisis attaining the rank of SP4. Prior to retiring in 1998, he was a mason tender for Eshbach Masonry Contractors in Reading, Pa. He was of the Lutheran Faith. An avid outdoorsman, “Jake” was a former member of The Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club and held a life membership with the Sun Valley Volunteer Fire Company, Effort, Pa. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Eva Dugan of Palmerton, 3 brothers, Earl Andrews & his wife Eleanor of Lehighton, Edward Andrews & his wife Ruth of Franklin Township, Clair Andrews Jr. & his wife Beatrice of Tennessee, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Arlington, Franklin, Miles, & Clayton. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 5th at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with the Reverend Randy Parker officiating. Call 6-8 p.m. Wed. the 4th & 10-11 a.m. Thursday the 5th at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors under the direction of The Lehighton Area UVO in Packerton Cemetery.
