Mr. Ronald J. Steber

Mrs. Ronald J. Steber, 74, of Lehighton passed away Saturday January 13th in Lehighton. He was the husband of Carol S. Snyder Steber. They were married for 46 years on October 16, 2017. Born in Coaldale, Pa. , he was a son of the late John J. & Mary A. (Lisicky) Steber. Ronald graduated from Lansford High School, Class of 1960. He served our country overseas during the Viet Nam War attaining the rank of SP-4 with the Co B, 716th Military Police Battalion, and was awarded the Viet Nam Service Medal. Prior to his retirement, he was employed in the banking industry. He served as Vice President for The BAC Loan Company and also served in the same capacity for Citizens Bank of Palmerton, Harleysville Bank, PNC Bank, & 1st Niagra Bank.  He was a member of the former St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Lansford, and most recently attended Mass at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, Lehighton. He held memberships with the Am Vets, The Lehighton American Legion Post 314, and the Mauch Chunk Rod & Gun Club. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 daughters, Suzanne C., wife of Donald Lorenz of Atlanta, Georgia, Kristin M. wife of Justin Markell of Lehighton, 4 brothers, John Steber Jr., of Jim Thorpe, James Steber & his wife Ruth of Pottstown, Joseph Steber of Jim Thorpe, Mark Steber & his wife Susan of Lehighton, 4 grandchildren, Ryan & Riley Lorenz, Katelyn & Jaxson Markell, nieces & nephews. Prayers will be held on Friday, January 19th at 9:30 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with Deacon Joseph Wilhelm officiating followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Ss Peter & Paul RC Church, 242 N. 3rd St., Lehighton with the Rev. Michael E. Ahrensfield officiating followed by Military Interment in Dinkey Memorial Cemetery, Ashfield under the direction of The Lehighton Area UVO. Call 6-8 p.m. Thursday the 18th, & 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday the 19th at the funeral home.
