Mr. James Dorsey Obituary

Mr . James L. Dorsey, 91, of Danielsville, Pa. passed away Monday March 26th at Alexandria Manor, Bath, Pa. He was the husband of the late Clare L. (Heery) Dorsey who passed away April 15, 2015. Born in Nappanee, Indiana, he was a son of the late John & Ada (Morgan) Dorsey and was raised by his uncle & aunt, Harry & Stella (Sensinger) Morgan. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corp. as an inspector of beams with 40 years of service. He served our country with the US Navy during World War II aboard the USS Enterprise as a gunner and later served aboard the USS Mindoro attaining the rank of Seaman 2nd Class. He was of the Lutheran Faith. In his spare time, he could be found gardening and spending time with his loving family. Surviving is a daughter, Jan L., wife of Robert Knopf Jr. of Slatington, Pa., a son, Jay L. Dorsey, of Walnutport, Pa. a sister, Nancy Pancottine of Whitehall, Pa., 2 grandsons, Alex & Alan Lorah, a niece & nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene. A Celebration of Life Service in his honor will be held on Saturday, March 31st at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with the Reverend Michael Kloton officiating. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday.  Interment with military honors will follow in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, N. 4th St., Lehighton. The family of Mr. Dorsey would like to thank the staff of Alexandria Manor in Bath for the great care Mr. Dorsey received during his residency at their facility.
