Mr. George E. Sawicki

Mr. George E. Sawicki Sr., 70, of Penn Forest Township, Jim Thorpe, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Friday December 30th at his residence. He was the husband of Theresa (Ruyak) Sawicki. They were married for 48 years this past June 8th, 2016. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Edward & Stephanie (Pryga) Sawicki.  He was a graduate of Monmouth University, West Lawn Branch, New Jersey and held a bachelor’s degree + 32 credits towards his masters degree. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a teacher in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church Jim Thorpe, and held a membership in The Bear Creek

Lakes Recreational Community. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 sons, George E. Sawicki Jr. & his wife Lori of Chester Springs, Pa., Scott J. Sawicki & his wife Paradise Nouri of Randolph, New Jersey, a sister, Barbara, wife of Donald Davis of Stuart, Florida, a brother, Michael Palko, & his wife RoseAnne of Orlando, Florida, 3 grandchildren, Brandon, Jason, & Jack Sawicki, nieces & nephews. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd  at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 180 West Broadway, Jim Thorpe with the Reverend James J. Ward officiating. Call 9-11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. The interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
