Mr. Edwin F. "Butch" Leiby

Mr. Edwin F. “Butch” Leiby, 69, of Ashfield, Pa. passed away Sunday, July 23rd at The Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit, 17th & Chew St. Allentown, Pa. He was the husband of Susan A. (McFarland) Leiby. They were married for 15 years on August 10, 2016. Born in Franklin Township, he was a son of the late Edwin A. & Gladys E. (Paules) Leiby. He served our country overseas with the United States Army during Viet Nam War attaining the rank of PFC. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by The New Jersey Zinc Co./Horse Head Industries in the Oxide Department as an Oxide Car Un-loader. He was the Lutheran Faith. ”Butch” was a Life member of The Andreas Sporting Club & The Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company. He also held memberships with the East Penn Sporting Club, The Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club, The Danielsville Legion Post 899, The Walnutport VFW Post 7215, & The Packerton Old Timer’s Association. Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Blaine Leiby of Palmerton, 2 Step-sons, Paul Muthard of Palmerton, Adam Muthard of Lehighton, 6 sisters, Betty Hedrick of Palmerton, Janice, wife of Frank Hofacker of Palmerton, Carolyn, wife of Terry Borger of Lehighton, Sharon Williams of Palmerton, Sandra, wife of Charles Kistler, of Palmerton, Eileen Hahn, of West Bowmans, & many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Cheryl Stuckley, a brother, Barry Leiby, and his former wife Darlene Smale Leiby. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday July 27th at Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with SALM Emma Weaver officiating.
