Mr. Donald L. Blauch 86, of Lehighton, Pa. passed away on Good Friday, April 14th at The Weatherwood Nursing Home, Weatherly, Pa. He was the husband of the late Florence H. Schneider Blauch who passed away in 2008. Born in Montrose, Susquehanna County, Pa., he was a son of the late Maurice & Marian (Traugher) Blauch. He was a graduate of Lehighton Area High School Class of 1948. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps in June of 1948 and served our country for 4 years attaining the rank of Sergeant with the 2nd Signal Battalion, 2nd Marine Division. He sustained a missile wound after engaging the enemy in Korea in June 1951. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a bridge construction foreman for JH Beers, Wind Gap, Pa. and formerly worked in the same capacity for Carbon Construction, Lehighton, & GA & FC Wagman, York, Pa. He was a member of Zion UCC, Lehighton, The Lehighton American Legion Post 314 and its Korean Last Man’s Club, & The Lehighton Am Vet’s. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending auction’s, faithfully cutting his lawn, watching Phillies Baseball, wagering on horses, and playing a good round of Golf with his friends. Surviving is a son, Donald J. “Duke” Blauch of Lehighton, a sister, Margaret Klabunde of Easton, 2 grandsons, Joseph & Luke Blauch, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna T. Malinky Blauch in 2007, a sister, Barbara Drumbore, & 2 brothers, Maurice & Kenneth Blauch. Services & Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
