Mr. Charles R. Eidem, 76, of Mahoning Valley, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 21st at his residence. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Snyder) Eidem. They were married for 54 years last April 14th 2016. Born in Mahoning Valley, Pa., he was a son of the late Charles W. & Edna A. (Reichard) Eidem. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 4 years as a road crewman for The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He previously worked for 40 years at the New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton as a laborer and also worked for 10 years at The Palmerton Water Authority. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mahoning Valley, The Mahoning Valley Fire Company,  The Mahoning Valley Fire Police, & The Lehigh Valley Canal Historical Association. He helped to establish the Mahoning Valley Ambulance Association and served for 30 years as a Mahoning Township Supervisor from 1970-1975 & 1982-2007, and served on The Mahoning Township Sewer Authority. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 daughters, Susanne Mushinsky of Wilmington, North Carolina, Catherine J. wife of Mitchell Pipkin of Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania, 2 grandchildren, Tiara Graver, Andrew Kopczynski, 2 great-grandchildren, Dakota Smith, Skyler Hindermyer, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Marvin Eidem. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 25th at 11 a.m. at St. John Cemetery, 826 Mahoning Drive West, Lehighton with Reverend Christopher DeForest officiating.
